George Cleverley – Elastic Sided Punched Cap Toe Shoe

Mr. Popularity at our recent George Cleverley trunk show/grand re-opening party was not the bartender at the open bar as one would have thought. He was actually the George Cleverley Elastic Sided Punched Cap Toe Shoe.

The combination of classic style, extreme comfort, versatility, and ease of wearing (which makes this an incredible travel shoe) made this the star of the party. A total of six pairs left the shop that single night, all to new George Cleverley owners.

The George Cleverley Gladstone bag in Russian leather is an extremely rare and interesting piece of luggage. Made with “Russian leather” salvaged from the sunken Metta Catharina, this bag has a distinct look, smell, and texture only Russian leather can offer.

Our Grand Re-Opening Party

On Thursday April 15, 250 friends and family of Leather Soul gathered for a great night of fellowship. It was such a wonderful time. We are so grateful to those who attended. Without their support and friendship we would not be where we are today.

Alden Shoes – Trunk Show Releases

Yesterday was a great day (and night) of talking shoes with Mr. Nate Humble of Alden Shoe Company. In conjunction with our trunk show and grand re-opening party, we released the following shoes.

The Alden Longwing is an American classic. Our newest Leather Soul Exclusive Alden Longwings include three distinct versions: dark brown calf, snuff suede, and a remake of our very popular tan suede versions from last Summer.

Alden Shoe & George Cleverley Trunk Show

On Thursday April 15, people across the country will be scurrying to finish their 2009 tax returns.

We, on the other hand, will be having an Alden Shoe and George Cleverley trunk show.

Nate Humble from Alden Shoe Company and George Glasgow Jr. from George Cleverley will be in-store all day (and night) “talking story” about shoes. George will also be offering fittings for bespoke shoe orders, the first time this has ever been done in Hawaii (please call to make an appointment).

We will also be releasing 2 new Leather Soul Exclusive Alden shoes, a dress oxford in black and color #8 shell cordovan, and a casual blucher in 2 suede and 1 calf color variations on that day.

At 5:00pm, our grand re-opening party begins.

Leather Soul Beverly Hills Opening Soon

It’s been a couple years in the making and it looks like we’re just about a month away! We are in the final stages of completing our Leather Soul Beverly Hills store on the corner of Rodeo Drive and “Little” Santa Monica Boulevard.

Our first continental United States shop will be located at 9513 Santa Monica Boulevard, diagonal to Brooks Brothers on Rodeo Drive. We are planning to open for business on Monday 5/10/10.

Of course it’s impossible to plan these things, we may be open a few days early or a few days late. Rest assured, we will notify everyone with a post on our website.

Looking forward to bringing a little “aloha” to LA.

John Lobb – Chambord II in Moss Green

When you hear the word “moss,” it doesn’t really bring to mind a pleasant image. Non-vascular plants living in damp and shady locations and exquisite footwear don’t really go hand in hand.

Names aside, the typical image of “moss” and John Lobb’s “moss green kendal calf” are polar opposites. John Lobb’s moss green kendal calf is great example of JL’s more unusual, but alluring shades of leather. Best described as a greyish-brown, it will look equally wonderful matched with navy blue, ash greys, and earthy tones. Green stitching throughout is a subtle and interesting touch and the handsewn vamp and split toe seam are examples of exemplary shoemaking skill.

Our version has a double leather sole which tapers to a single leather sole at mid-sole, unnoticeable to the untrained eye, but well appreciated by a shoe connoisseur.
