LSxSE

We’re about a month away from the release of the LSxSE Alden boot!

Self Edge is one of my favorite shops in the world. I respect Kiya and appreciate his vision and passion for his business. This collaboration means a lot to me and I can’t wait to share the boots with you!

Our Newest LSW Staff Member

Our newest LSW staff member is the yet to be named mannequin residing in the LS Lounge. He’s currently wearing a Boglioli jacket, a Jantzen shirt, a Drakes tie, and a Kent Wang pocket square. A pair of Alden #990s finish off his look.

We’re taking suggestions for his name. If we choose your name we’ll send you a nice gift…

HNL – JFK

The big news of the day is Hawaiian Airline’s announcement that they will be adding a HNL-JFK non stop flight starting June 2012. This is great news for me and my family. It gives me a better option for visiting friends and business partners in NYC as well as a much easier option for visiting the Alden factory in Massachusetts. It also makes it easier for my family in NY to visit Hawaii.

Intro rates in June are about $200 economy and $800 first class one-way. LSW has never been closer or cheaper to get to from the East Coast! We await your visit!

The LS Bar

The highlight of our expansion will be our scotch bar, stocked with almost 100 bottle of various scotches, whiskeys, bourbons, and ryes courtesy of SWAM (Shiroma’s Wine and More).

We will be introducing the “LS Club” shortly, a member’s only club with perks such as free gifts, services, and most importantly scotch, wine, and beer tastings throughout the year. Membership will be limited and initially only available to invited Hawaii residents.

I’m looking forward to working with Jill Shiroma, owner of SWAM, and of course, the scotch.

Vintage Subs

Here’s a couple more vintage Rolex watches from my friend David. The one on the left is a “Red Sub” and the one on the right is a Sub with an Explorer dial. Both are quite rare and collectable, however the Explorer dial Sub is something really special. This is the first time I’ve seen this in the flesh and I must say, it’s pretty cool.

Union Works

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Tokyo was visiting the Union Works factory in Kanagawa. It was an amazing experience, especially when Sakurai-San, the Technical Manager, showed us his skills by attaching a new sole to an existing welt.

Mahalo to Nakagawa-San, Sakurai-San, and Aoki-San for their hospitality. We are proud to recommend such an amazing repair business to our customers.

Hong Kong

I travel to Japan 2-3 times a year and always make it a point to visit Hong Kong as well. Custom dress shirts from Peter Lee, suits and ties from the Armoury, and roast pork and drinks with friends make the 4 hour plane ride well worth it.

Here I’m pictured with “internet celebrities” Alan, Ethan, and Graeme. Three men of honor and amazing sartorial genius.

Thank you Alan for the hospitality, Ethan for the roast pork and scotch, and Graeme for the cigar that did not make me sick.
